| Delta College to receive $250,000 grant for alternative energy programs |

| UNIVERSITY CENTER- The move toward providing more alternative energy studies
at Delta College got a huge boost this week with the announcement of a $250,000
Congressional appropriation.
The appropriation is part of $2 million in funding to nine separate programs

average in every subject area of the 2010 Michigan Merit Exam, according to data

| Midland to house Styron operations center |

| Styron announced today that it plans to invest $13 million to establish a
North America Operations Center in Midland, while its global headquarters will
be in Philadelphia.
The company, which makes plastics, latex and rubber, also received $4 million
in state tax credits Tuesday for job retention in Michigan.

| Meridian’s Fillmore granted retirement extension |

| Meridian Public Schools’ Superintendent Doug Fillmore has retired, though
he’ll serve at least one additional year in his current position and possibly
longer for a fraction of his former salary.

| Clayco Inc. selected for battery plant |

| Dow Kokam announced Thursday that it has selected Clayco Inc. of
St. Louis, Mo., as the design-build contractor to oversee
construction of its battery manufacturing facility in Midland.
The facility will produce lithium ion battery cells and packs
